Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Gateway to the Kingdom

Arrive at Paro International Airport, surrounded by emerald valleys and snow-capped peaks. Visit Rinpung Dzong, National Museum (Ta Dzong), and stroll through Paro town.

Day 2: Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)

Embark on a memorable hike to Taktsang Monastery, perched dramatically on a 900m cliff. The sacred site is one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrimage destinations. Return to Paro for rest and trek briefing.

Day 3: Paro to Jele Dzong (Trek Begins)

Begin your Druk Path Trek with a gradual ascent through pine forests. Reach Jele Dzong, a small temple overlooking the Paro Valley and Mt. Jomolhari.

Day 4: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

A scenic trail winds through alpine forests and rhododendron shrubs. On clear days, enjoy magnificent mountain views.

Day 5: Jangchulakha to Jimilangtsho Lake

The trail follows mountain ridges, descending to Jimilangtsho Lake, famous for giant trout and peaceful surroundings.

Day 6: Jimilangtsho to Simkotra Tsho

Pass yak herder huts and alpine meadows before reaching Simkotra Lake. On clear days, you’ll glimpse Gangkar Puensum, Bhutan’s highest peak.

Day 7: Simkotra Tsho to Phajoding – Descend to Thimphu

The final day offers panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Visit Phajoding Monastery before descending through pine forests to Thimphu.

Day 8: Thimphu Sightseeing – The Heart of Bhutan
